jude takes a bath...

i once thought, or assumed i guess, that babies needed a bath nightly. then i read something in one of my 'here's how to raise a kid' books and it said that babies needed to bathe every 2-3 days. so i forced myself to get over the guilt associated with putting him to bed with dry hair and his baths now occur less often.
so every other night we venture to the bathroom and jude sits in the bath until the water is cold and his fingers and little toes look like prunes. he splashes and runs from one end of the tub to the other. he jumps up and fights while i wash his hair though the burt's bees baby shampoo and wash bar from his godmother, ashley, seem to ease his squeemish-ness when it comes to suds being dumped on his head.
tonight, bath night, he learned how to fill his astronaut up with water and squirt me in the face, a task he's been diligently trying to master for a week or so now. so i retaliated. he too got it in the face.
